The trial
Fourteen days, everything unlocked, starting when you first open the License tab.
Charter runs a 14-day trial per Azure DevOps organisation, with every feature enabled.
When the clock starts
The trial starts the first time someone opens the License tab — not when the extension is installed. Nothing else in the product touches the clock, so an organisation can have Charter installed for weeks before the trial begins.
There is no way to restart it. Removing a licence key clears the key and leaves the trial timestamp alone.
What you get
Everything. There is no project limit during the trial and no feature is held back, so what you evaluate is what you would buy.
When it ends
Charter drops to view-only: you can read every configuration and see where projects have drifted, but bulk apply and import/export are disabled.
Nothing you configured is lost or reverted. The configuration already written to Azure DevOps is ordinary Azure DevOps configuration and is unaffected by Charter's licence state.
After the trial
- Subscribe online and paste the key you are emailed.
- Or buy by invoice if your organisation needs a purchase order.
