The FORGE core is open source under Apache 2.0 — fully functional, self-hosted, and free without any paid component. Revenue comes from proprietary ITSM connectors and support contracts, which fund continued development of the open core.

Single source of truth

By using a single work item to track the deployment of multiple components, all involved parties have a single source of information regarding a software change. Also, using FORGE, it is no longer necessary to approve every single build, this can be done from the Change record.
